Learning about and practically using the 180 degree rule

As part of our preliminary work exercises. We learned about the 180-degree rule. It's used to make a scene coherent. This is used when filming a conversation between two people. The diagram below provides a visual representation of the above.

To apply it practically, my fellow media students and I got together to film a short sequence using the 180-degree rule. Two of my friends were seated on opposite ends of a table, while my other friend and I filmed them having a short conversation. We used the 180-degree rule but also filmed breaking the 180-degree rule to better understand the difference. Then we edited the footage on premiere pro, one sequence using the 180-degree rule, and the other sequence breaking it. We watched the two, and better understood the use of the 180-degree rule.
