Coming up with a concept for my Film Opening

As one of the first steps in my research and planning process, I needed to come up with a concept for my film opening sequence.

Figuring out a Genre

I decided to focus on some of my favourite film genres and selected my top 3; rom-com, chick flick, and horror
Next, I decided to evaluate my resources and capabilities. Would I have the proper equipment to film certain scenes in certain styles? Would I be able to design an appropriate set? Would I be able to get makeup artists and costumes? After evaluating my options like so, I decided to combine both rom-com and chick flick and make that the genre of my film opening sequence

Coming up with a Plot

I'd already envisioned an opening sequence where the main character got ready for school. I was pretty set on that idea and decided I could incorporate other elements such as notebooks, posters, choice of breakfast, etc.. to add context.
I went ahead and watched opening sequences of many popular chick flicks and rom-coms, such as Clueless, To All the Boys I'd Loved Before and Mean Girls, but my biggest inspiration was drawn from the opening sequence of Legally Blonde. In this sequence, Elle can be seen getting ready, while shots of her room, notebook, jewellery and surrounding give her character context

attached above is the opening sequence of 'Legally Blonde'

Thus I came up with a concept for my Film Opening Task.
